Besides being an accomplished artist herself, Kanika is also very passionate about serving her fraternity. Since 1989 she has been associated with Sangeet Sankalp, a non-profit organization that promotes the music and the thought of the younger or less known yet highly talented and dedicated musicians. It gives her immense pleasure to work for other musicians, both amateur & professional, who, after spending the majority of their life in pursuit of the art, are still struggling to attain the recognition that will bring them a satisfaction and fulfillment equal to their sacrifice.
Through it, she is able to devote her energy and talent for other people while pursuing her own musical endeavors as an artist and in the process, greatly enrich her own life.
Keeping the desire to give back to the community, Kanika wanted to learn and get a deeper understanding into the ‘Arts Management’ area. She was fortunate enough to get selected for a very prestigious grant from the Ford Foundation. In 2004, she went to study performing Arts Administration at the New York University as a Ford Fellow.
She is also actively involved in various community services and continues to give back to the community.
